On sale for $385

Link (http://www.newegg.com/Product/ComboDealDetails.aspx?ItemList=Combo.450019)

Original price is $550 but you save $165.

PSU has an 80 PLUS Gold rating and the GPU is a 768MB card.

Pretty much you're just paying $350 for the PSU and an extra $30 for the card.

The PSU should not (and likely does not) cost $350 newegg.com is selling it for ... but if you need BOTH (a very powerful PSU and a GTX 460) this is an Ok deal.

How are the Sparkle PSUs quality wise? Haven't heard of anyone recommending them.

I believe FSP bought Sparkle years ago. Not sure how the quality of FSP units are now though. I know they were once considered good(their server grade units?), but also meh at other times.

The innards look like corsair (1st gen 1kW) units. The thing with high wattage PSUs is that the number of ODMs that can make them, and meet 80plus GOLD standard are very few, so any PSU of that amount is good. and they offer a 5 year warranty, too.

So you save $50 to buy a sparkle brand card over a good brand like EVGA just to spend an extra $100 on the overpriced PSU?
