Switch - Is this what I need?

Hi!

Im after a switch for my home network setup. What im trying to do is link all my networked devices together, instead of running around with a lan cable trying to get it connected everytime I want to use it.

The devices im trying to link is as follows:

PS3, NAS, 2 Computers, Network AMP and a few other bits and bobs.

Will this switch do the job? I hope it will, because I just brought it! However, if you can confirm it, that would put my mind at rest.

James, you did not say which switch ... but provided it has enough ports, it might do the job.

I think you could either find one for less money, or just get one intended for home use, 8 ports should work for you, right? And if you don't already have a router, you'd probably want one. Unless your cable / dsl modem has one built in.

8 ports would do the job, but i found it difficult to find even an 8 port with gigabit for that price
