ccEvTMgr.exe is currently using 272mb. Is that normal? This is the first time I've had a full internet suite pkg in a LONG time. Fry's has a deal where you can buy CA Security Suite for $59.99 then get a $60.00 mail in rebate. You can use it on three PCs so I got it. Just wondering what to think.

thats a big chunk of mem. most Antivirus usually uses less the 100Mb unless its running a system scan. a lot of full anti-virus programs are very convoluted and come with alot more "perks" then the average/anyone needs. i personally use AVG Free (http://dw.com.com/redir?edId=3&siteId=4&oId=3000-2239_4-10320142&ontId=2239_4&spi=7a62788676412b9ba703a97eeae9fc2d&lop=link&tag=tdw_dltext<ype=dl_dlnow&pid=11119511&mfgId=10044820&merId=10044820&pguid=-wXjJQoPjGAAAA1rfbUAAAD6&destUrl=http%3A%2F%2Fdownload.cnet.com%2F3001-2239_4-10320142.html%3Fspi%3D7a62788676412b9ba703a97eeae9 fc2d) it uses little memory and will still keep you safe (you can also use it on as many pc's as you want. :thup:

272Mb? That'd be the last time I ever used that program. Even for free I wouldn't want it.

I've ran into dire problems with CA internet security suite where the firewall gets corrupted and basically you cannot get onto the Internet via browser. You'll be able to ping websites via command line and browse the internet via Safe Mode -> Networking option, but if you boot up normal, CA kicks in and just doesn't let you get online. Only thing I can find to fix it is to format/reinstall.
I've seen this happen to all the systems I've worked on that had CA internet security and they all had the same problem (can't get online).
Also, talking to their customer support leads to nowhere if you run into problems with that program.
I'd stop using it as it's sub-par compared to even Norton 360 and Mcaffee
