ok so im a marine currently stationed in iwakuni japan, im living in a barracks and i have cable internet, i've done many tests and they all seem to land at 150KB/s download and about the same for upload when no one around me is online, im a network tech and i've looked at the infrastructure and i think a 5 year old designed it, pretty much its one T1 fiber line from japan going to one server on base and splitting to coax cables that run into every building that then split into every room.
the weird thing though is that although i get 150KB/s while downloading every where my ping is amazing 20Ms tops while playing games with people in japan, but then when i patch my eve online client it downloads at around 300KB/s, its almost as if my dl speeds are so slow because i resolve as a US ip and i get force connected to california servers and so far EVE is the only server/node that has ignored my US resolved ip and connected me to the tokyo server
does any one know of any way to make it so i connect to japanese web servers (i can read japanese)
