Ever had a cpu that would NOT overclock? no matter how cold you made it, how high the voltage and what ram, bios settings you used? just wouldnt bulge? I never seen nor had a non OCable cpu. in fact a 25% OC was the smallest Ive seen

That would not OC??? No, however, I've seen some that don't OC well. My old old old 486 DX4 (25MHz processor, put overdrive on it with 3x multi) couldn't make the jump from 25MHz to 33MHz, but it could run turbo settings well, and the Packard-Smell mobo had no OCing options except for the ones for a new CPU (e.g., the 33MHz).
i got one now...a pentium overdrive 200. the chip says 200Mhz, but on three different boards it boots as a 133 with the defualt settings, and 166 if i tweak it.
The P3 Katmai 500 I had. Although it had options to like 515 and 560 I never bothered.

LOL! did you return it for a refund at that time? did you try using a 3x multiplier?
