Hi. I just wanted to see if you guys could tell me if the Retail Celeron Tualtin, such as the 1.0A or the 1.2, comes with a metal heatsink clip that only hooks to one socket lug or a plastic heatsink clip(like on the piii 1ghz) that uses all three socket lugs. Thanks for any information.

Not sure about this, but I think they come with the same lug as the PIII 1GHz. I don't think they changed it at all due to the IHS (my PIII 1GHz is one of the new Coppermine-T procs that does have the IHS on it, and it does have the plastic clip).

They should be only using two lugs. Since in the heatsik there's only one long clip going through it.

I also have a retail piii 1GHZ, but it is the normal coppermine. It has the plastic clip.

The plastic clip also goes through the center of the heatsink. It just wraps around the bottom of all three socket lugs on each side.

I really like the plastic heatsink clip alot better than the metal ones. I'm just trying to make sure the new retail Tualatin Celerons have them.

IF you ask me the metal seem to be better. They are meant to be bent or flexed abit to be put on the lug where plastic may break if its like that.

And since it flexes it will apply more pressure of the heatsink in the core.

My retail 1.0A cele came with a HSF with a metal clip and is slightly smaller than the retail P3 1000EB heatsink with plastic clip
