So i am doing some mild upgrading, and want to make sure i set everything up correctly. I could use some input.

Here is what I have.
Asus P5W motherboard.
ATI Radeon 4870 x2 for crossfire.
4GB Corsair Dominator ram. DDR2 1066MHZ
Core 2 Duo E8400. (I have been running at 3.6 no problem, want to run at 4)
WD Velociraptor 300gb.
OCZ 600w power supply.

Anyone care to tell me what optimal settings I should use with this setup? Also, any recommendations on cooling? I am thinking about going with the Thermaltake Bigwater cooling system. Thanks!

Looks good, don't understand what you mean by what optimal settings to use.

But as for the cooler ditch it and grab a Corsair H50 or wait for a couple more days till the H70 releases.

It's a pretty good pre-made closed loop watercooler.

Here's another vote for skipping the bigwater, the H50 is probably a better option if you want to do a closed water loop, or I'd recommend a good heatsink personally.

Can you fill out as much of this as possible and post it back here? It will give us a starting point to know what you are running with your current 3.6 OC:

I cannot post up specs right now, the computer is apart. I am waiting on my new motherboard. I had been running a thermaltake lan box, but i just gave it to my brother, and took his ATX case so I could do a crossfire setup. So just waiting on that to show up, then I will post everything. And by optimal settings, i just meant where should I start to get 4ghz with this setup. Thanks!

Cool. You may want to follow some recent previous experience from here:
http://www.overclockers.com/forums/showthread.php?t=650083&highlight=e8400+4ghz

Note the advice for hitting 4Ghz, although you can change the memory settings appropriately for your RAM ratings:
Code:
Vcore Voltage: 1.4
HT Voltage: Auto
NB Chipset Voltage: 1.45
SB Chipset Voltage: Auto
FSB (QDR): 1780 (445MHz x 9)

RAM Linked and Synced at DDR2-890, and 5-5-5-15 timings.

Sounds good, thanks for the link. I just bought the Corsair H50, thanks for the input guys.
