Not a real big deal, but its real slow... A few minutes for each page load...

Yeah, running a bit slow for me too.

It was crawling earlier today but seems to have come back to normal.

Thiddy - Apparently 3.0 (well, 3.0.1 now) is in the upgrade pipeline. iNet upgrades all properties at the same time, so they like to ensure a stable release before doing that. They also need to ensure our plugins work properly with the new version. Hopefully it will happen sometime soon. :)

There was a database related issue yesterday resulting from limits not being configured on the logging output for our redirection tool - GBs worth of log data compiled as a result of how many hits we were getting on the redirects we implemented to fix external links to old articles (like this one: www.overclockers.com/tips1133). That happened over the course of several weeks, but apparently it hit a point yesterday which started causing real problems due to the bloat.

Miah - it loads pretty reasonably compared to other sites on the stateside, but there is a lot of room for improvement. Unfortunately, the slowest parts are the few ads and sharethis plugins, which are things controlled by iNet. Overall, the performance is pretty consistent, and even when its slow stateside that usually means a wait of 3-5 seconds only.

Not minimizing the performance problems, but just saying usually it works pretty acceptably, but often times it is rather slow. We do see a lot of exits in the stats between 1-10 seconds on the site, so a lot of those could be people getting impatient waiting for pages to load. Or the black forum background scares them off thinking its porn. From where Miah is though, any slowness with the ads is surely only worse for him.

What are you doing when it hangs? Uploading images/trying to save drafts/etc? I'm looking at things now to see what I see...

Its almost not worth starting it in Wordpress. It would be faster to do it in MS word, then copy and paste it in WP after you have completed it. It would also be nice if you could change the editing window size.. Just way too small..

I'm not complaining just giving suggestions.

You can make the window as tall as you want it, just grab & drag the lower right-hand corner.

As far as word, you can do that but be sure to use the paste-from-word button (clipboard with a "W" on it) when you put it in the article or the formatting will be all kinds of messed up.

Yup, I've copied and pasted from Word before, works fine for text, but you still need to add images in WP ;)

You used to be able to make the editing window fullscreen, but the last time I looked the option was missing :-/

Never tried to make it full screen, but just dragged it larger. Now that I look, the button is there in the editor to make it full screen - just tested it. Third button from the right on the top row.

I dont work in that mode... I use the 'fullscreen' mode instead of that tiny window (see pic).

I dont start in Word unless WP is unavailable to me for some reason.

Yup, that's it ;)
