Just wondering what the best deal is on Halo: Reach. Maybe a gift certificate or something with a preorder? :D

Gamestop is typically the best place I've seen to give out good stuff. Thats probably where I'll go and do mine.

I missed out on the Beta for it (RRoD)

I don't trust ANY game review site, so I was wondering what you gents thought of it - I loved Halo3 and got it for $25 when it was retailing for $50 at the time hehe

Simply put - it's different. Personally, I loved it. I thought Halo 3 was the most balanced of the games yet, but Reach takes it to another level. Anyone can kill anyone else regardless of what weapon they have as long as you play it right (within reason). Even though its balanced like this, the fun doesn't get taken out of it though. Armor abilities take some getting used to, and they were a little imbalanced in the beta, but the fixes they've said they implemented sound good.

Invasion is a lot of fun the first few times, but it lost its novelty for me after a while because sometimes there's little you can do to control the outcome of the game.

The new gametypes are pretty good as well. My favorites are still the originals- slayer/ctf/oddball/koth, but the new ones are fun too. Powerhouse was a great map. I didn't like swordbase very much because it seemed too difficult to navigate without a jetpack. The invasion map in the beta was very cool, but the scale is almost too big. You rarely spend time anywhere on the map except the big open areas where its a huge clusterf**k. The generator defense was also a cool gametype, but I never became a fan of elites vs spartans.

Overall, I'd definitely say it's worth buying (at least from a multiplayer perspective since that's what the beta was). I'm going to get it at midnight for sure.

I ordered it from Amazon. I figure the $20 credit will come in handy for Rock Band 3. :D I can't freaking wait till Tuesday!

Pre-ordered mine on Amazon as well. I tend to buy my games there regardless, but $20 off is just great. Plus, you get a promo code for a special Spartan helmet.

I'm pretty sure it's included in the case, so you'll get the helmet no matter where you preordered it.

Just got my shipment email from Amazon! I'm so excited. Luckily I have no homework for the rest of the week, so you know where to find me when I'm not in class... :D :D :D
