i know the issues, heat has never been a problem. am thinking about the cooling system that comes with it. it has a blorb like hsf and ramsinks and they get pretty warm. but my case has all the air flow it can get. i tried to low level oc my vid card using riva tuner... the highest it can get was 150/410, still not stable. fsb is overclocked too. agp 2x is enabled (disabled 4x). im frustrated... the first time i looked at this card i thought i kud oc the hell outta it. any ideas guys?
setup on the sig.

A few questions. 1)Why do you have 4x disabled? 2)What happens when you oc it too far? 3)What is the default specs for the card? 4)How comfortable are you with modding the card a little bit? 5)What exactly are your case temps?

1) in the hopes of reaching high fsb's ive enabled2x instead... i thought it kud give me more headroom when oc-ing the card itself, the fsb and the cpu.... i think ive read it somewhere here.
2) it just hangs, then i have to do a hard boot. either that or it drops me to desktop.
3) 250/400
4) im clumsy as hell. i kud break something. and the stock cooling that comes with it looks appropriate.
5)34c normal, 37c full

Hmm, strange... I had a Visiontek GF@ Ti and it did 270/480 default cooling. It had 4ns RAM. Maybe you got slow RAM on yours that's holding you down.

alright. That's fine that you are trying to get higher oc's. I take it you're not a gamer? It's just that yes for the most part you will get farther overclock but that doesn't mean your performance will be better. Also you said your card's default was 250/400 but you oc'd it to 150/410....was this a typo or did you really pull down your gpu clock? Lockups are usually caused by the card not getting enough voltage. What are your voltages like and what type/power psu do you have? I wouldn't suggest anything major for video cards but if you feel comfortable i would get the hs/f and ramsinks off to see what's holding them on. I just read a article where their elsa had a thermal pad on the hs/f and only superglue for the ramsinks. Some thermal epoxy would help greatly there but if you're not comfortable trying it DON'T. When you're nervous is when you tend to make the most mistakes. I love the Elsa cards. I think they ROCK but from what i've seen they're not great overclockers BUT you still should be getting a little more out of it. Also if those are your CASE temperatures they are running a little high. That's 98.6 degrees F. That'd be fine for a cpu or gpu but for case temps that's really pushing it. What type of case cooling do you have?

I think that the case mod with the fans will help keep those case temps down. If you prefer FPS i personally would leave 4x enabled. I think it will give you better performance. Also, you're voltages seem ok but you might want to keep an eye on the 5v rail and make sure it does't drop lower. When it locks up is it on the desktop or when you start testing the card?
