Got question for ya... What do you do for retention? Did you make it yourself? How? Can you post some pics? If you use bolts... can you tell me the measurments between holes? What processor would help to ;) Thanks guys :D
should have came to me first:D i used a pice of plexi glass and a nut and bolt....however you an intel person:D so i don't have the slighst idea how to do yours

Sorry guys... should've been more specific... I just need to know about retention... like clips... like what ol' man did with his... something to hold a 3/4" or 1/2" thick waterblock to the processor. With slot 1 designs I can just to bolts... same with socket A chips... but I'm curious as to a socket A clamp down.. instead of bolts... just looking for some alternatives to try out... I'm building a watercooling system for another member with an Amd system... I could do the bolt method but I'd like to clamp it instead. Also... I'm unsure of how to clamp my block for my socket 370 system... It's on a slotket... but the slotkey doesn't have any holes at all (abit slotkey III)... help... please... before I start rambling :D

I'm going to be using nylon bolts and nuts. According to Bender, they have the same mounting hole spacing as a socket A. I haven't figured out (yet) which slot 1 he means. The "SEPP", or the "SECC". I'll grab the prototype I'm working on, and compare it to a socket A when I get into work, on Monday. If anyone else knows, which type is comaptible, please let us know.

3.5cm x 6.7cm for the center of the wholes....
i marked my holes with a peice of cardboard behind the mobo then i found the center and poked thru onto another peice without moving it and traced and cut that out for the centers of the holes..........
make sure you get the mounting hardware before you drill the holes so you dont make them too big like i did.......
maby tomoro ill show you a pic of my popcan waterblock and hold down plate
because im VERy tired...
i also made a popcan gpu wb
here's the clamp I built for my homemade block. It grabs the socket lugs, so I guess it will work on Socket A even tho I built it for my Celeron on a Slotket. It only grabs one set of lugs, next version will grab all 3.
Basically, 2 bent pieces of coat hanger, a thin hollow bar of metal, a screw with a wing nut glued on it, and a bunch of JB Weld. Took all of 15 minutes to build, the hardest part was waiting for the glue to dry.

The hole pattern for a p3 slot 1 is NOT the same... I think he meant the celeron packaging... cause the block he made fit on both the celeron 333 and athlon... but I have that particular processor now and the holes are different from a regular slot 1...

Here's mine... It's ugly, should be plexi, and should be epoxied to the block to keep the block from twisting...
