Anyone else glad 2d games are coming back?

So recently released we have already seen a new 2d mario for both the Wii and the nintendo ds. At PAX they were demoing a new 2d kirby, donkey kong and sonic. Is anyone else really happy about this. I miss the old 2d games I always had a ton of fun sitting down and busting out a couple levels and am extremely glad to see that they are coming back.

I don't think the existance of 3d graphics should make 2d gameplay go away. Both types of games should be able to exist at one so I am happy to see the new games that are coming out.

I am...I really like seeing great old school gameplay being mixed with high end graphics. In general I'm glad that not only 2D games but pick up and play games have been making a come back with digital distribution to thank. Does that mean that I want a slew of poorly made low budget pick and play games like the sea that the Wii is has been drowning in....no but good titles like geometry wars, New Super Mario, etc...can co-exist with tripple A titles like Call of Duty 4.

If it helps answer the question of the OP, I have Super Mario Bros. (the first 3) on the SD card in my Wii, and I play them regularly.:D I also miss classics like Duck Hunt, and a few others.
