I installed Ubuntu with windows and some how it screwed up my net. I cant get it to connect to the net. I even put in a card and its saying the same thing that my Ethernet cord is unplugged or is broke and I know this isn't true I tried it with alest one that i know works. I really need this back to normal quickly for school.

Do this at command line, then reboot, then let us know what resetlog.txt says once its done:

netsh int ip reset c:\resetlog.txt

If you can't boot entirely, load into safemode and install this, then disable all autoruns which might be causing a problem:

Reboot, and re-enable items a handful at a time, and if you have problems booting entirely, take a step back and undo the last items you enabled. You should be able to find which autorun is causing the problem.

I also want to know if maybe left over Ubuntu files would be causing Windows to do this.

It depends, there are a lot of different ways to install and try ubuntu. If you used the Wubi installer its possible its causing problems.

If you tried ubuntu in more traditional ways like a livecd, then its unlikely ubuntu has anything to do with your problems. The livecd doesn't make any changes to your system unless you actually proceed through the install process. Your posts are a little light on details regarding exactly what the situation is, what version of windows you are on, and stuff like that so its hard to say what your issue really is caused by.

I installed tho the live cd to my system i tried it on my main and second hard drive i uninstalled them both. Im using the Ultimate version I used both 32 and 64 bit and 32 was the only one that keeped coming back on when i restarted. I cant totally know what to describe to help you out

Hmm, I'm familiar with linux but with installing thru the livecd, typically the only thing that can affect the system is booting. I can't think of any way it could impact your windows install, unless you used the wubi installation inside of windows and the uninstall went poorly. You may want to ask your question in the alt os forum - those guys are smart and typically familiar with both linux and windows.
