Probably, I remember hearing a while ago that they were packing more information into each WU or increased the resolution or something like that to take advantage of the faster cpus that are currently out, so they'll take a while on older cpus.

Are you talking about the seti WU or the astropulse units?

where you see the list of them running it says application it will either say seti??? or astropulse if its astropulse that is taking that long then thats not to bad.

when the boinc manager is running, above the picture it says application: setiathome_enhanced. is that what your talking about.
That's going to be a normal Multibeam unit as the Astropulse ones would take way longer than 30 hrs on that system. Unfortunately, it's just a function of how slow that old system is. Thanks for putting in the time to help us out though.
If you want to check if the optimizer is installed correctly, just open task manager and see which program is using up the cycles. It should be the optimized one. If you're not sure, the just post the name of the process here.

thats what i thought it was. and for some reason, the time seti dropped from 30 hours to 19. it will be done by the time i wake up and get back on here tomorrow. i live on my computer. it is said. about 75-80% of my awake time is on here. believe you me, my girl aint that happy about it.

That's normal too. The times are just estimtes and continually change as the work unit is processed.

They have to be confirmed then you will get the points for the WU.
Thw wu has to be crunched by other people as well. Then the results from multiple machines are compared to make sure its right. It usually takes a little while before this whole process happens. Eventually, you'll be getting credit at a stead rate, but that can take up to a few weeks.
EDIT: Darn ninjas.:sn:

That why you have to get a geek-girl! Most people buy roses for valentines day, we usually end up buying video cards, RAM, HD's, CPU's or anything else geek related for each other lol. On the flip side, when you get drunk and she kicks your ass in MW2 like 20-2, you will NEVER hear the end of it no matter how many times you nuke her...
