Hey there! :D

I've read the News Team Introduction (http://www.overclockers.com/forums/showthread.php?t=621838) and have a few questions. (Didn't want to muddle the sticky). If this was already answered and I missed it, my apologies. Currently enjoying a Saturday away from working and, well, :soda:. :p

--> What is the greatest need currently? Authors, Go-getters, Editors, Proofreaders or Content Editor? And in what area/sub-forum?
--> If there is an open space/available sub-form for a CE, could you reference what area(s) are available? (I don't want to get into an area I'm not proficient with...)
--> <nub question> If I simply want to write articles, would I have to be a Content Editor or just an Author? If yes, would it have to be in an area/sub-form currently not covered, or for any area? If no, I'd presume that any topic/area would be 'free game' for the writing?
--> <nub question #2> How do I get started/where do I write articles? I've seen reference to wordpress, but how do we tie this into the OC news team? (Or, how do I get an account to write items for OC?).
--> Are we still using this thread (http://www.overclockers.com/forums/showthread.php?t=648278) for what guides/how-to(s) need to be written?

Thank you in advance for your time. I've been toying with the idea of getting more involved. While I'm still technically 'new' here, I have to admit that I really like the community and sense of 'family' we have, and would like to help out as much as I can. Since I travel for a living, I though the news team would be a good fit, as I can access the forum/news content almost anywhere.

Talk to you later folks, enjoy your weekend! :salute:

PS - Please ignore the grammatical errors. Again, :soda: :p

Yo, I was away most the weekend, still catching up a bit.

We always need help identifying content and getting people who would be interested writing on the frontpage - a lot of people write good stuff on the forum because they don't know its an option to post it on the frontpage. We usually catch good forum stuff when a CE brings it to our attention, or asks someone they know on the forums to write an article they are knowledgeable about.

The nature of the CE position is sort of in flux however as some positions were picked up and people ran with them, while others lost interest and motivation, or didn't have anything to do. Basically, we need people to identify interesting topics and find members to write up interesting articles about them - at its core, thats what the CE position is, and we can be flexible with however you want to go about helping if you are interested in that.

If you want to write, you can write about anything you want. If its in an area with an active CE, you may want to run your topic by them and let them know its something you are going to write up. That makes sure you don't waste time to write something that we might not be interested in publishing.

To get an overclockers.com wordpress account so you can compose articles in the backend on the site, send me the email you want to use with the account and I'll create it.

That thread is a fine starting point yup! Its not all inclusive or prioritized, so if you have something else that interests you, thats a possibility too.
