Ladies and gentlemen it's FIVE YEARS LATER... and Nintendo has finally saw fit to deliver a game that actually delivers on the very few strengths that its flagship system has!

No it's not a rail shooter this time... and it wasn't originally created for the Gamecube... And it's not some hyper-stylized Flash game (*cough*Punch-Out!*cough), it's Metroid Other M!

Told in a remarkably similar fashion to MGS4, MoM is very much a story-driven, cutscene-loaded, tour de force.

Usually Nintendo's die-hard fanbase means they rarely have to crack their knuckles or stretch their legs to make a game (thankfully THIS game was not created directly by Nintendo), but Other M goes all-out to offer an experience you'll be shaking your head at and asking yourself: "How come they didn't make a game like this a long time ago?"

Basically a side-scroller, the only place Other M trips-up is their quasi use of 3D (think about an entire game made like the 3D levels in Contra... YEAH.) Folks if you're going to make it 2D then KEEP IT in 2D. Don't try to appease people that got used to 3D with FAKE 3D.

But for the most part the game does take place in 2D just like the originals did and that's truly where Other M shines.

So much more to be said... But it's time for me to finish packing!

It was fun the few minutes I got to play it. I've heard great things about the game, but people don't seem to be too happy with the storyline (because it brings Samus down to a more personal and "whiny" level). I don't know how I'd feel about it, but from what I've read, it makes sense to make the story as such. Though some are screaming bloody murder at the fact that it's "sexist." =_=

How does the 3d work is it were you can go front to back (like further and closer from your side perspective?)

He's kind of full of crap =_=

It's not a side-scroller at heart, there are some side scrolling parts, however most of the game isn't limited to a side perspective. The camera moves dynamically around Samus and you have full motion most of the time. Think Ninja Gaiden (they're the guys who developed this game).

He can't really see the game because of his hair. :p

It's sort of the opposite of what he said: It's a 2D game with some 3D pretensions.
