Alrighty, released yesterday so what are peoples thoughts of it so far?

Me personally only played a little of the campaing so far, and then went at it for 4 matches in Firefight mode. Mmmm carnage :) So far so good, only complaints and maybe I can mess with the sound settings (haven't yet) is that voices seem to be soft in the game and hard to hear sometimes. As well don't let the AI drive vehicles sadly :/ In past versions it seemed better but this one there seems to be the jerk driving.. go stop go stop go stop. Not sur why but it is rather annoying even yes I really wanted to drive and blow stuff up.

Though its definatly more squad based with backup and I'm playing it on Heroic, the way it was ment to be played. Crouse I will eventually play on Legendary just don't need my butt kicked very couple min.

The game is very challenging so far, and you got to make use of your squad members otherwise its hard to complete.

Only question and maybe I missed it somewhere, what does the extra armor upgrades do? Just asthetics?

Yeah, it seems all the extra armor "upgrades" from the Armory are purely aesthetic.

I'm roughly halfway through the campaign on heroic. It's definitely challenging (then again, I'm rusty, lol). But there are a few things, mostly to do with the AI and voices, that really bug me. idk, maybe the Halo series has run its course? Don't get me wrong, the multiplayer is one of the best experiences on any gaming system, period. But the single player...idk, maybe I'm still blown away by COD 4. :D

The character voices are *terrible*. I can't stand any of the voice acting. Anyone else?

Can you do space combat in multiplayer? Just finished that mission, and I totally wanted to do firefight or something with Sabres. :D

Yeah feels like im rusty or its more challenging for sure. Think im on mission 3 or 4 of 10 (11 on legendary).

Thought actually the voice acting was above par compared to other ones. Well at least the original 3 Halo's. ODST seemed above average in that respect for Voice acting. This I'd say is above ODST in that terms.

Not sure about space combat in MP, though Im really looking forward to that mission!

I didn't think the voice acting was that bad at all. The space combat was definitely a nice touch. I'm almost done with my first play-through...next up legendary, and that's gonna take a while.

And with Legendary Mode...

As always there is a special thing with Legendary Mode, this time its an interactive level! Called Lonewolf. Where your shields DO NOT recharge. Course this is after all the credits so be warned don't skip/log out early if you want to play this level.

I know my next play threw going to try to get all those data pads that have the history of Halo on them.

all i can see now is the interwebz filled with posts about how this is the best FPS game EVER on any platform and it kicks arse compared to any other game and consoles rule et cetera , Halo all over again.

Guys....I'm a big Halo fan I beat 1/2/3 all the way through, but I no longer have a 360. I haven't played ODST/Wars or this new one at all, is it worth getting another cheap console to run through the game?

On a side note.....I would like to play Gears of War 2 so that wouldn't be the only reason

I got that on Heroic...I've been seeing all over that you can only get it on Legendary, but I definitely got it on Heroic...it's really not that much fun either, since you pretty much just get pwned in about 10 seconds, lol.

The game pisses me off as I had expected :D

I shoot people over and over and they don't die, but I can get shot and die. What are these people doing for armor and defenses?

My brother gifted me with Halo 3. I was disappointed at how little had changed since Halo 1.

Is this just another refresh with extra marketing this time around?

Well thats good to know. Course will play it on legendary after I pass Heroic just because I think it deserves another play through.

Head shots are key in most cases. If you get hit hide to recharge, low on health find health packs. Mostly I try to have a long range weapon so I can at least pick off the little guys quickly and if possible take out the helmets of the large guys.

Better graphics yes, more story line than others yes. Changes they went back to single weapon guns (no dual welding). I seem to use more terrain then I did before for cover, and the power ups you get there are certain ones I use all the time... Hologram, Cloak and Sprint is the ones I use the most in that order.

Its what you'd expect from other halo's, though there is more vehicular options in this one. Really liked the placement of those mongooses in a later mission, wish I just knew about them sooner.

How do you use the Hologram (meaning you in particular, tactically, not the global "you", lol)? It just appears in one place and stays there, right? I feel like I move around too much for it to be useful...idk, I tried it once in the campaign and couldn't think of a good use for it, so I haven't touched it since.

When you hit the LB to use the hologram, it basically sets a way-point where your cross-hair is currently pointing, the hologram runs in the direction of the way-point in a straight line (it does not negotiate obstacles)

Yup, a decoy per say to draw guys out so you can go behind them sometimes and knife them. Thats the main use I use it for or to distract big turrets. Works like a charm

Just finished it on Heroic yesterday, pretty good. Probably my favorite Halo yet. The first one is still the second best in my head. I bought the damn Legendary edition, the statue is really nice.

On a snipers game hologram is extremely useful. You just send it out and watch where people shoot from to see where they are. It's also great if you send it straight at someone because when they're zoomed in it blocks their vision.

Oh good call. I haven't used it in deathmatch battle yet(only played firefight and the vehicle matches, those are sweet). I've used it a little in Firefight mode, but other then that its all been against the AI.

No way! That would've been so helpful in the campaign...I'll remember to grab it more in multi. :)
