I currently have my Xbox360 running its sound through SDPIF Optical and I get the DTS/DDL on everything except for running Netflix, it just defaults to Stereo (I'm assuming) because it defaults to "Stereo" and I can pick different emulation modes like Play Movie/Pro Logic/ETC...

Does Netflix streaming from the Xbox360 simply not support this or is there something I'm missing? I made I have the audio set to Dolby Digital 5.1 on the Xbox Sys settings.

Any help would be great :)

I think netflix only supports stereo so far.

Yeah my Z-5500 only showing Stereo via optical when netflix plays via 360. Though you can "mimic" 5.1, but it's hit or miss.

Yeah thats what I'm having to do is "Mimic" ... damnit :(

I wonder if its even possible to "Stream" DDL/DTS/5.1/Whatever over something like that

You can't stream surround sound right now from netflix, it sucks and is the main reason I very rarely stream movies.

Netflix HD downloads are in Dolby Digital 5.1 or it is still matrixed stereo?

Well Engadget has an article saying the PS3 will have 1080P streaming and 5.1 audio in a few days. So it is possible, but not yet on the 360.

The annoucement I saw so far was only for the PS3, however hopefully we can expect it on the PC, Xbox360 and other netflix devices soon. The lack of 5.1 sound has been the main thing preventing me from doing a lot of streaming.
