two gtx460, different temps

i have two gtx460 768mb(reference cards.Not factory OC'd )...one is Gigabyte and one is EVGA...

the 2 cards look identical except for the paintjob...i used EVGA's performance boost thing, which basically is a bios flash to default the core clock to 720mhz from 675mhz...then i flashed the gigabyte with the evga boosted bios, to get both cards at 720mhz...

but the gigabyte card always runs around 5-10c higher than the evga...on idle gigabyte is around 45c and evga at 39c...at full load, gigabyte is around 85c and evga is around 75c...

what explains the temp difference? the cards are reference and should be identical in reference coolers....

cause in sli/crossfire bottom card always runs 10 to 15 degrees hotter, one card blocks the airflow of a 2nd card in 1st and 3rd mobo slot configuration with 2 slot cooling cards.
been asked a million times is the only reason i know.

+1 yep. the card with poor airflow always runs hotter.

My 470s before I WC them was the same.

yea i thopught of that aswell...the gigabyte was on PCI slot 1...and evga on slot 2...
theni moved evga card to SLOT 3, to eliminate the airflow problem...and yet the gigabyte on slot one is still hotter...but the difference in temps is smaller...now gigabyte runs around 5c hotter...and i have a 140mm fan under these cards to circulate airflow...this case is Raven, so the cards are 90dgrees mounted and fan under it for addiotional info...

Is the gigabyte your main card with the monitor connected to it? It would explain why if it is the main GPU, as in SLI it'll always be running the hottest compared to the 2nd card o_O

yea the giga is coonected with monitor....and setup is sli enabled...but both GPUS are stressed to 100%...
