I recently updated to a i7 system, and i wanted to bring my loop across, i brought a motherboard which had 1156 and socket 775 mounting holes, but because socket 1156 boards have a metal back on them, i couldnt use the mounting equipment that came with the dtek fusion V2, i used a spare back plate i had, but the temps arnt what i expected, it hits 70+ at 4ghz when folding, Im thinking its eaither a bad mount, or because the dtek fusion v2 is an older design and isnt that good for cooling quads?

im gona break down my loop and try remounting the block first, but if that doesnt help, any recommendations whats the best block i could get for a 17/socket 1156 board for under £50?

Thanks, Mark

The new AquaComputer cuplex kryos XT just took the crown from the EK HF Supreme.

Not sure the exact price in Europe though.

thanks for the recommendation looks pretty decent,

looks like there are 3 versions of the AquaComputer cuplex kryos

Delrin version £35
Pro version £42
XT version £57

got to see if the difference is worth it as its almost a £25 difference from the delrin to the XT version

Quoted from C and C central http://www.candccentral.co.uk/Aquacomputer-Cuplex-Kryos-XT-Sockets-1366-1156-775.html
From cuplex kryos we offer three versions of:
The high performance version cuplex kryos XT is the version for those who want to get out last 1 / 10 ° C. It has a nickel-plated shell, the new complex bracket incl Back Plate and thus offers a very attractive appearance and maximum power.

The cuplex kryos PRO differs by running in pure brass cap and a back plate located not included. The performance is identical to the XT.

As a cheap entry level version, there is the cuplex kryos Delrin. Here is the top manufactured from Delrin and the mounting system was taken over by cuplex XT Tues. As a guide: The Kühlleitsung on a i7-960 is our test about 0.3 - 0.5 ° C behind the other two versions. Thus you can always call one of the very best performing CPU coolers his own, and this at a very reasonable price!

If you are looking then the special, for which there is direct to the market launch of the cuplex kryos .925 silver edition. As the name suggests, this is the cooler floor plate made of solid .925 sterling silver it produced. The thermal conductivity is thus more than 10% above that of the other versions, and so this version yet reached even better results. The surcharge for this version is for the high silver listing again to 120 xt cuplex kryos so as to obtain, but in today's times, a safe investment and at least to our Kentnisstand the best CPU cooler in the world.

can you not get your hands on an ek supreme HF? Should be about the same as the xt in terms of price, cept probably a little cheaper. I'm not a tremendous fan of the Kryos as it has rather low flow so if you decide you want it in a loop with a gfx card later it'll run a bit hotter. The difference between the 2 is <.1C and at that point, you won't even notice the difference on the sensors. That said, if availability is better or it's cheaper, go kryos!

For long them the HF is the clear winner. Budget and the use of the PC would be nice to know. If it's a cheap build for crunching etc that is just a CPU loop, then no worries. All depends.

thanks for all replys, the specs are in my sig.

specs:I7 875K (4ghz 191*21 so far) 4gb ddr3 2000,evga P55 LE,ST 64gb ssd,8800gts@513/792/1674,8800gt@555/800/1782
Cooling:XSPC Acrylic top,MCP355,D-TEK FuZion v2,Black Ice 480 GTX ,swiftech MCW60,D-TEK FuZion GFX+uni sink

its a single loop with 2 gpus and 1 cpu in it.

It is my main (desktop) pc, I will be crunching on it, but thats not its number 1 function

budget for the block is £50 GBP i cant afford much more then that

i found the EK-Supreme HighFlow CPU Block - Plexi 775/1156/1366/AM3 for £52

Yea, I'd look at a better flowing block. You have enuff rad, thats not the problem. Unless your trying silent operation on that rad. Still, you got an i7 and some pretty low power GPUs. So I'd try a block for sure. Look through Skinnees test I guess, find better flow and go for it. You got only one pump, but a god top.

thanks for getting back to me conumdrum :)

I have 4 Yate Loon D12SL-12D fans on the rad, they are slightly undervolted, running at 9-10v

gona look through a some skinnes results and see whats available, been a while since i looked at blocks, i think things have changed alot in the last year.

long over due, i just redid the mount of the dtek fusion block. replaced the nuts/bolts and washers, in the process i some how managed to damage 1 of my fan splitters, so im only running 3fans on the radiator right now

im getting about 65C max on the cpu when folding which is alot better, the radiator was getting warm before, but i must not have had enough pressure on the block.

so im gona see how i get on with this block now its mounted better, got other things to spend £50 on need a new chair for my pc, i keep falling off of this one :P
