I haven't gotten any requests for proofreading in months!

C'mon guys, I feel worthless of my title :rain: :-/

Put me to work, that's what I am here for!

Depends how long the article is :attn:

It takes me a while to look over windwithme's articles (his being the extreme case due to length and language barrier), but regular ones I can easily do within an hour or so.

You must not have seen Dolk's "∞ Step Guide to Overclock Your Phenom" (titled by me :D). Go check it out, you'll be busy for a few months... It's the article equivalent of the giraffe pot...

You could always just look through the articles in pending even if you're not sent a request :p

I usually just proofread articles as they go through me, but the more eyes the better.

Sorry, we ended up pushing them out this morning in a hurry. Thanks for the offer though, we will definitely use you as you wish!

Dolk's is going to get some edits from IMOG I believe, but it never hurts to have it proofread prior to having that done. If you feel up to the task, have at it!

Hey hokie, are the custom status things working in wordpress again?

I thought they kinda were... Maybe its time to create a proofreading status, and we can assign articles there after they are submitted for review, and soul can just check it whenever he wants, and we can also pull from there when looking for things to publish whether he's gotten to them or not.

Would that work? The hard part has been getting the proofreaders integrated into the workflow, and remembering we can use their assistance.

I don't regularly check wordpress :-/

The best way to get my butt in gear is by directly emailing me gschmell [at] gmail [dot] com

If we have to remember to email someone every time it doesn't happen - thats part of the reason you've been left out of the loop.

In order for this to work well, it'd be best to assign articles to a certain status, like "proofreading needed" which you can login to wordpress and check whenever you have time to proofread.

If that doesn't work for you, we could try to email you when needed - but I expect often times it'd be forgotten because its yet another step in an already complex publishing process.

Would it be too convoluted to set up Wordpress that when an article gets placed in "proofreading" I would get an alert?

Actually that wouldn't be hard... Check your name, move article to proofreading, and that should do the trick. Still hinges on the proofreading status actually working. In the past, we've had problems with the custom status fields working correctly. I'll have to try it out and see if its working on the latest version of wordpress we are on.
