paycheck question

im not sure if thats the right title or not but here it goes, I had a contract job recently and I worked a total of 47 hours, I just got my paycheck today and it says I only worked for 38 hours, now is it possible that they are either A.holding money from me which I need or B.going to add it to another check cause i had to go back after that week for one day

If you worked a day after the previous pay period ended (even for a day), they will be cutting you a separate check. Although you said it was "contract job" so I dont know? Depends on their company policy and the contract you agreed to.

Ask who gave you the check. The only thing we can do here is make blind speculations. Just ask the people who cut the check.
