i am thinking about gettin a petlier for my cpu. My question is what is nessicary for cooling the hot side of the pelt? is it possible to get decent results with a regular heatsink or do i have to watercool the pelt to make it worth while?

Thanks

Get this advice from who have buyed the most powerfull pelt more than 2 years ago! I buyed one 85W tec from Tom Leufkens to trying to cool down my Duron, but even with one powerfull (once upon the time...) Alpha PEP66T on the hot side, it couldn't be done... :o
And another thing, Athlons didn't give you back much with extreme overclocking! So, if you start to think about pros and cons, you will run like hell from Peltiers!!!

You will need watercooling with an AMD CPU. Expect to pick up 100 MHz or more with a good pelt setup. May I suggest you read everything in the peltier section on the front page. Here are some more links to help you learn.
