Hey guys,

Normally I'd post in vendor discussion but I feel like an article would be a nicer thing. I decided to get a netbook this black friday. I finally settled on hhgregg's asus eee pc (partly due to people lining up Tuesday at bestbuy!!). Long story short, it was super easy/hassel free to get the netbook, they did a whole ticket thing. Then I had a problem with my netbook, keyboard was messed up, they replaced it when I went back! They exchanged the laptop on blackfriday! I just feel like the level of customer service and level of smartness at hhgregg deserves some love. I'll go into much greater detail, but after this experience, I don't know if I can shop anywhere else for black friday!

So what do you guys think? Article worthy?

I find their commercials super annoying. Never been to one though, not very close to me.

I went to an HH Greg a year ago around this time on the suggestion from a Walmart Employee while I was trying to get a black friday deal on a 37" Samsung for $499.

She told me they will haggle for prices. So I walked in and was quickly waited on by one of the sales people. I told him. I want a 40"+ 1080p LCD TV for $500 and not some crappy no name. He told me, "I think I can do that.... I will be right back." Ten minutes later I was being sold a 42" LG 1080p, 60Hz for $530 dollars after tax. I took 10 of his buisness cards and passed them out at work.

Yes, I only have good things to say about my HH Greg experience.

IMO this is only worthwhile writing up if it brings out some key points about good vs bad customer service. Otherwise it will look like a shill and damage the reputation of the site.

I don't think we're at as large of a risk of looking like shills as you think. Every article carries that risk, and its the nature of the writing and supporting material that makes or breaks it. Every article could go wrong, and we shouldn't avoid praising products or services we find exceptional for fear of sounding shilly... that fear gone too far could lead to every article being muddled and nuetered. When genuinely excited or satisfied, that should come across to he reader, just as much as critical insight should when its warranted.

That said, if this is going to be written, sooner he better so we can look at it and edit prior to the shopping season being over.
