I have 3 similar ones on my i7 but they at least seem to be moving as far as progress is concerned. This one on my Q6600 seems to be stuck, should I cancel it now or wait until all the WU's are done first as this project is now at it's end and I'm going back to folding. Thanks all.

EDIT: Actually, the i7 has the same disease but not as apparent. I'm totally confuddled now.

There are a few WUs out and about that take a tremendous amount of ram and time to complete, I had to cancel the last one i got as it was consuming 1.6gb of ram and slowing my box to a crawl.

Thanks again Bobnova, much appreciated. Well, I decided to leave them running overnight to see if the WU's would pick up as a couple of them were a 1/3rd done. No such luck though as the CPU was still @ %50 and the completion time was now nearing 100hrs.:screwy: Too bad as there may have been good points in there for the team but seeing them just getting worse forced my hand and I canceled them. See you whenever for the next points surge project!

augie1111, there have been a few defective (or whatever) wu's out there and if you run into one like that, stop and start the boinc client. If it still is taking way too much ram and it's projected completion time is outrageous, then just abort it like you just did.

Thanks muddocktor, I'll remember that for next time.:)

Sometimes tasks like that will really get stuck, and I've had to kill them in task manager.
