OC: 3.8Ghz
Motherboard: Gigabyte X58A-UD3R
CPU: Intel i7 930
Here are my settings for a rock solid 3.8Ghz OC (181X21). I have been testing for @ 3 weeks. Voltage is low, heat is low, fan speeds are quiet, and passes all stability tests. Passes LinX on all memory levels including 10240. Passes Prime95 on Small FFT, Large FFT and Blend tests overnight for greater than 12 hours.
I did OC the RAM at 1600MHz (200X19, timings 8 8 8 24) and it took far more vCore (1.2375) and DRAM (1.68v) which resulted in more heat. I was able to get stable at 1.2375v but did not like the heat profile or readings.
I did OC the RAM at 1600MHZ (200X19, 9 9 9 24) which is much easier. But most of the articles I read suggested to lower the latency timings and sacrifice RAM speed for best performance.
Please let me know what other people think?
Thanks,
Mark
