There should be an exclusions section in the AV software so it will ignore folders/processes

I have to find out how to make my Kaspersky to cooperate with this.
It's simple. All Kaspersky versions since I started using it back in 08' have been roughly the same, but assuming you are running KIS 2010 like I am just follow these instructions:
1. Go into "System and Applications/Firewall/Threats and Exclusions/
2. Under Exclusions there should be a settings button. Click that and add: C:\ProgramData\BOINC\
Otherwise, each time the minirosetta.exe version changes, Kaspersky will shut down BOINC Manager.

I'm running 2k11.
I've checked/unchecked about every box I've found pertaining to this.
Still have the av activating when the rosetta starts working.
The only things that work are shutting down the av or run rosetta in the "always" option, not "preferences".

Nope.. No go again.. :(
So they've changed the software that much that there's no Threats and Exclusions function anymore?

If it's not this, it's got to be somewhere in the "preferences".

I hate being a pita. But this is becoming more of a challenge now to get this thing running.

Maybe I should start a thread for this?
I'm going to see if I can get a mod to move my other posts to here.
Stand by..

I don't touch the Program Files Folder as it has never been BOINC that interfears with Kaspersky in my experience.
It's the minirosetta executable (minirosetta_2.17_windows_x86_64.exe is the current version on my machine) that resides in ProgramData/BOINC folder that will flag when the minirosetta.exe starts up for the first time and every time after that when the version changes.
That's it. Only one thing in the Exclusions list. I just chuck the whole folder in there, even though the minirosetta.exe resides in a subfolder within ProgramData/BOINC.

This is the only thing that I've ever had to do with Kaspersky Internet Security from 2006 to 2010. There's a chance that 2011 treats things differently, but I doubt it.

That's all you do? Nothing in the "Trusted applications"?
Are you running the "default" settings in the preferences?

I should learn to read..
This is much better. Thanks to yoooo..
Didn't know such a thing as C:\ProgramData\BOINC\
But I do now. So I'll chalk it up to a "learning" experience and not a pita. :p
