This is on an ASRock X58 EXTREME6 LGA 1366 Intel X58 SATA 6Gb/s USB 3.0 ATX Intel Motherboard with G.SKILL PI Series 6GB (3 x 2GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1600 (PC3 12800) memory. Basically, I'm just wondering what setting in the BIOS do you have to change to make sure you get the full 1600 MHz of memory speed. And how do you adjust the voltage to the 1.5 volts that the memory is rated for?

This is the first time I've ever really spent any effort looking at BIOS settings.

Thanks!

At the default 133 BCLK, manually adjust the DRAM Frequency to [800MHz DDR3_1600], and DRAM Voltage to 1.5V (that RAM is rated for 1.6V -1.65V w/ timings of 8-8-8-21). Next manually adjust the 4 primary RAM timings (DRAM tCL, DRAM tRCD, DRAM tRP, and DRAM tRAS) to their rated 8-8-8-21 respectively, and leave all of the sub-timings on Auto.

Well, the Newegg website shows the timing as 7-8-7-24-2N but the first BIOS screen I see shows 7-8-7-24. But then there's this thing called the DRAM Timing Control taht shows something even different. And Newegg shows the voltage as 1.5, but you're saying I should go with 1.65? This all makes me wonder what I paid for!

The DRAM frequency only has a setting for 800 MHz (even though it also says DDR3_1600 in the same line), So I'm wondering how I can get the full 1600 MHz? The highest choice is 1066 MHz DDR3_2133.

And, do I need to change that thing called the Uncore Frequency", (whatever that means)?

Since you didn't provide a direct link to your specific RAM, this is what I went by...

I already told you how...

If you don't know what the Uncore Frequency is, then you really need to at the very least read Miah's overclocking guide...
