View Full Version : GTX 460 or 470?
As some of you may know, I'm looking at swapping my 5770 to a GTX 460. However, I am now thinking of going with a GTX 470 and was wondering how much hotter they ran than the 460 and how much more power they pulled? I did a cursory search of TH and didn't really find anything conclusive. If you've found something, please let me know.
Here's reviews from bit-tech for the 460 1 GB (http://www.bit-tech.net/hardware/graphics/2010/07/12/nvidia-geforce-gtx-460-graphics-card-review/1) and the 470 1280MB (http://www.bit-tech.net/hardware/graphics/2010/03/28/nvidia-geforce-gtx-470-1-1280mb-review/1) with the same formats and methodology of testing.

I have 2 eVGA GTX 460 1GBs and they overclock crazily! Mine goes from 675 core to 870 core and 1740 shaders and 4200 GDDR5 and equals a GTX 480.;)

Read my review on the 470. (http://www.overclockers.com/gtx-470-mini-review/)The 470 under Furmark pulled a hair over 400W at the wall running FURMARK, otherwise benching and gaming I could only hit 380W. The 460 1GB will use less power, I think 75W less or so.
