So I saw a few other threads that were well over 3 years old so I figured I would ask again.

Atm I have a i7-920 and DDR3-1333 (7-7-7-18 2t) ram and 2 over clock profiles saved. The current one is 3.8Ghz (200x19) with the ram @ 1200mhz. The other is 3.6ghz (20x180) and the ram @ 1440mhz. Both are rock solid stable so I guess what I am asking is...

200mhz difference on the CPU or 240mhz on the ram: which difference is gonn crunch better or am I splitting hairs?

IMO, go with the higher CPU speed. The work units for SETI are small enough that they are not going to bottle necked by the slightly lower ram speed.
