i got a gigabyte ud3 two parts to my question first when it says memory standard does that mean those are the only speeds i can have my memory at if so then can i update BIOS to change that?

What ud3 do you have? I know on my p55-ud3, Max memory w/ stock bclock is 1333mhz with my i5. If you have i7, I believe you can run the 12x memory multi which will give you 1600mhz max ram.

So basically w/ my i5, I could run 2000mhz ram w/ a 200 bclock and 10x ram divider.

Maybe add yoru system specs in your SIG or atleast post them up so we know what we are dealing with.
