Anybody know where statsman is? I get nothing but a blank screen there all day.
I noticed that too. Its been happening a lot lately. Either it lags more than the 3 hours or its blank. You'd think stanford would have better people in charge of their servers.

azhari, I don't think that site is stanford. I think it's den, the guy who wrote fold monitor, but I haven't seen him post in a long time.
The other site,
http://users.neosmart.com/hruzaden/folding/stats/overclockers-stats.html
is up to date right now. I don't think it's stanford, either.
Anybody know where these sites get the stats?
I mean, I'm sure it's from stanford, but where?
Actually that's Den's stats in your post ;)
Statsman is RKHands from HardOCP. It's hard to say what's up. It could be his host since that site receives a lot of traffic and moves a lot of data, no doubt due to that java applet that loads with every page. The paypal link was still up which also means that the donations did not equal the cost of putting the site up. It could be any of these things. anyway hardopc's forum is the place to go to find out
oops, my mistake :) I thought the site was run by stanford.
If my cable company gave me a static ip then i could probably run a web server that could update the stats once an hour based on the stanford site. The programming would be pretty easy. You guys up to bugging Cox Cable to start selling static ips to residences?

How often do they change your ip? Mine didn't refresh until recently and was the same since I got it last summer but it's not cox.
You could always use something like http://www.dynu.com
It will redirect to your ip as long as you have the software running. If you have some sort of server software, ie apache or IIS then it should be possible, although I don't know how your cable co would feel about it and it would be best if they didn't cap your up speed to badly. 128kbps can get clogged up pretty quickly. I wish my cable co would offer a static ip with premium bandwidth. It went from an average of well over 1500 down to less than 700 down over the last 2 months. :( and they changed my IP.
I haven't checked recently to see how often they change my IP, but it used to change pretty frequently (almost once a day). Unfortunately they do cap pretty hard. Since they switched to docsis modems my upload is 128 kbs and download is 1 mbps. Never higher, but sometimes a little lower. I guess that upload speed would be a little too slow for a popular site, but then again, my site hasn't been that much in demand anyways :D But if I were to include a stat update I would need higher bandwidth. I could always switch to the premium dsl service, which would give 3 times the upload, but then my download would be 3 times slower.
Wait a sec, I do have webspace at work that I haven't used. That one sits on a T1 on the Texas A&M system which is directly connected to the Sprint backbone. That should be able to handle it. I'll check into it today. Let's see what our network admin has to say about it.

Cool. I'll keep my fingers crossed. Let us know! :)
No luck. The problem is that the server is sitting behind a FIREWALL (its a major firewall). So some of the active scripting needed would not be allowed. I've been thinking about buying webhosting service. I guess now i'll be doing it, first i'll check out some of the services and let yall know what happens. Fold on.
It was a good try. :)
You could try it at home first. The number of people that would check from this team may not be enough to make a difference in your connection and if it does you could shut it down. The most important thing would be the security of your system at home. You can get decent hosting at a rather low cost($6-10/mo) if your traffic isn't too great and most of it comes equipped with the ability to run php/perl/whatever scripts with a mysql db.
Statsman is still down too :( but Den's site is still up :)
Update- Info on Statsman.
I checked HardOCP - the official word is that the stats are being collected but he is having ftp problems transferring the stats to the site host. Here's a link to the thread. - http://www.hardforum.com/showthread.php?threadid=334511
