Hi all,

I've never attempted to OC a GPU before and while I attempted to yesterday, I came up with a big blank. When I went to "Overdrive" in my CCC it wouldn't let me touch anything. The only reasoning I'm guessing is due to my motherboard.

Is there a setting I can change in my m/b that would allow me to OC the card. I'd like to try and get a stable 60 FPS playing BFBC2 but I noticed I go from 60 and will dip down to sometimes 40.

I know I know...sometimes it's just not worth it but once BF3 and Crysis 2 is out, I will most likely dish out the funds for a new vid card...one big beastly one since my m/b can't support crossfire.

Thanks for the help.

I think in CCC you have to click on advanced or something to overclock.

But regardless, use MSI Afterburner.

in CCC, you have to click the symbol that looks like a lock, once you click it, it'll unlock. now CCC is unlocked for OCing.

And now I feel like an idiot, but I will say thank you for the quick and easy help.

While I am on this subject, has anyone here OC'd their Radeon HD5770 and had any failures with the device, or your m/b etc? I am not 110% convinced that I should do it.

You wont kill it. Here is the name of the overclocking GPU game...

Have Furmark running in the backround, increase clocks by 10-20Mhz. When you see artifacts or it freezes, you have hit your limit and should back the clocks down. Do GPU first then memory.

Once you find your max clocks, back it down for 24/7 gaming clocks and test it with a benchmark looping like 3dmark vantage or a game enchmark looping (crysis).

I have a Visiontek 5670 and used CCC. I went max on both GPU and Memory, however, I only OC it while I'm gaming and I also spin the fan up to 70% or so. Once I'm done, I just back everything down to stock or a little lower for heat/acoustic purposes. It was good for a few fps in WoW, which was fine with me. I have really good airflow in my case, so even max OC with CCC it still stays below 55*
