Hey All ,
I just purchased a brand new HIS 6870
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814161349
from Micro Center to replace my old 4870. after I removed all the drivers and CCC as well , I downloaded the newest drivers from amd's sight as well as the newest CCC. My gpu and memory speeds are both showing a value of 300 mhz each. I play games on them no problem and the card seems to run fine. So i ran GPU-Z to see if maybe something with CCC was wrong . GPU-Z showed me the same values .Any help would be appreciated .file:///C:/Users/Philthy/Pictures/New%20Folder/VC%20Clocks.giffile:///C:/Users/Philthy/AppData/Local/Temp/moz-screenshot.pngfile:///C:/Users/Philthy/Pictures/New%20Folder/VC%20Clocks.gif

I am wondering if it is a low idle value that is showing while it's using no real power on deskstop view and maybe during games the values change to there native values I will try while in game to alt tab and check values.

I think it is a power consumption feature on the new ati cards that bring down the clocks for less graphic intensive rendering and go back to native values when gaming , i alt tabbed during BFBC2 and the gpu speed was 900 and memory speed was 1050 so I think were okay.

agreed, its the power conservation settings, the clock turns itself up when stressed automatically.
i just got one of these cards the day before yesterday and am currently testing it to see what it can handle,
i got my hands on a copy of the trixx tool from sapphire which allows clock and mem settings to be ramped higher than the ati overdrive, and will be posting what i manage to do.
so far i think im needing to learn about some better stress test tools, something that warns me abnormality's detected in addition to the uasual temp alarms maybe...
that's what im hear to learn about
this was my first post here yay! :)

Well my Original HIS card went black screen , and could not reboot it Monday morning. Went back out to Microcenter and returned the card after only 3days of using it , they returned it no problem no questions asked. So i swapped it out for a Diamond 6870. After booting up in safe mode and running driver sweeper ,install of Diamond's driver's the new card is smoother and temps are cooler. It doesn't seem to skip around when looking around in games like the HIS card did fan is quieter. I hope this card does not call it quits we shall see.

I like my HIS but Im not over clocking it or anything. It plays real well in games like crysis 2 bad company 2, Far Cry 2,and cod4 well cod4 doesnt take much maxed out.I noticed temps get up to 72c but thats with fan speed running at 22% I usually crank it up to around 35% and temps go down.
