I guess I am the unlucky one who can't o/c the P4 1.6A. The highest FSB I got with a successful boot up is 106mhz, If I change the Vcore to 1.55V, I can boot up at 107mhz. Is there anything I have to do with the bios setting or I am just so unlucky that got a poor quality Northwood. I am using ASUS P4B with 1009 bios. Can anyone give me some advise?

Try jumping to 133mhz bus, maybe a component isn't liking the overclocked PCI bus... increase the voltage to 1.60 (or whatever you're willing to consider your highest allowable voltage) assuming your cooling is up for the task ;).

I boost up the Vcore to 1.7V and still no use can't go any higher than 107mhz FSB, the machine show it's a P4 2133mhz, but freeze right after the memory count.. before "Initialling Plug and Play" What should I do next? Should I pull out all the PCI board and try it? Or it's the problem with the CPU?:( But I think running 133mhz FSB won't effect PCI and AGP cuz they both will be running at 33mhz and 66mhz.

What operating system are you using. It almost sounds like you're having the same problem that I did with Win 98 first edition which turns out to not work above 2.1 gig. Except I was making through the boot up and was getting Windows protection errors on OS start up. What cooling do you have and what are your temps?

I am running Windows XP Pro, the temp of CPU is 42-45 C and I am using Intel HSF. It is not that I can't get into Windows, the machine just freeze on just right after the memory check.

If your mobo has the same Cypress clock gen chips described in above thread, you can save yourself some grief and give up.

Do you have anything connected to the onboard USB-ports? Connect them to the USB 2.0 ports instead if so. Or try dipswitches+non-JumperFree mode?

Thx for the input, I have checked the clock gen chip and it is made by ICS. I have also tried the dip switch mode, which give me the same result, also I don't think my motherboard have USB 2.0 port.
But I will try to disconnect everything and try it again.
