I'm just building myself a new PC and I want to get everything perfect. I bought myself a Thermalright copper heatsink. I've assembled the whole thing, but I don't know what to do with the 2 pads that come with it. 1 is a small black square of foam stuff, the other is a small white square that came packed between 2 peices of plastic (its sticky i think).

*cougth* What do I do with these!? ...I'm also gonna use a shim and artic silver 3, so do I need these bits?

Love ya!

Welcome to the Forums!!
Im not sure about the Black Foam thing, but the small white square sounds like a thermal pad...if thats the case..you dont need it...your using AS3 (great choice!)..you said your using a shim?...what type of CPU do you have?..AMD?(thats what im guessing)..if your really careful you shouldnt need a shim...Hope you enjoy the new PC, and May you be Bitten by the O/C bug!!
