Just use the screen saver version, tell him its better for the monitor and that it is doing some good too. Besides its got nice pretty colors. Or you could tell him that if he shuts it off that it voids the warranty or something, I dont know, just some ideas.

if he's on boardband, just set it run at the background and Driver would take care of itself. and make sure to tell him that as for every single electronic device, the biggest "wear & tear" is switching it on & off all the time. sooooo, leave it on 24/7.

that's what i tell my nephew when i built his machine.....:D
