Buddy of mine picked up a small form factor 1TB WD 'My Passport' drive. Model: WDBACX0010RD-00. The proprietary software is damn near impossible to remove. When you plug it in theres a UDF format partition that is actually embedded in the device (I've read) and cannot be formatted out. There is a utility on the WD website to hide or disable (but not remove) the software, but it didn't work! Wanted to format it FAT32 for easy compatibility between PC an Mac (and I know theres some drawbacks with that). WD phone rep says FAT32 is not supported. Wow.

I love WDC internal desktop drives but these lil things are ridiculous.
