I am looking for a p4 mb for my 1.6a and would like some input on the Gigabyte GA-8SRX ($80.00) compared to the other sis645 chipset mb's in this price range? If anyone has the board and can let me know what the specs are on this board for oc's features. Someone has posted this in another fourm:

The DDR, AGP and PCI voltage can be adusted +.01v .02v and .03v independent of each other.
CPU clock is adustable 100-200 1Mhz at a time
The DRAM, AGP and PCI can be adusted up or down independently, with the CPU
clock setting affecting the ratios. For instance:
CPU 150
DRAM 300 250 225 200 187 150 125 120 112 107
AGP AUTO(?) 100 75 60 50
PCI AUTO 37 30 25

CPU 100
DRAM 202 176 166 151 141 133 126 121 100 88 84 80 75 72
AGP AUTO 66 50
PCI AUTO 33 28 25

VCORE is adustable up to 1.85v

i've been looking at this board too, who carries it? I haven't found a site that i know that offers it. If you do end up getting it be sure to tell us all your impressions!

edit: woah, everyone needs to take a look at this review, he wasn't kidding...independent memory clock generator lets you run ddr400 with a 100mhz bus?! pci/agp lockdown?! For 80 bucks!!! WE NEED MORE REVIEWS OF THIS BOARD!!!!

Well I have it up and running 1.6a@2330 Costa Rica chip, I know that I can get more but I need to learn a little more on how the setting work. Also I am running (3) 256MB PC2100 Crucial ram with no problem with all banks filled and the temp hovers around 47C on full load.

nice...I'd love to hear more of your impressions of the board once you have a little more time to play around with it. Are you running with stock hsf? What OS did you load? i'd like to hit 2.4ghz with the same combo you have and with a 47c load i'm sure you can bump the fsb a few more mhz to get there! Did you check to see which stepping of the 645 you got?

So far the board is working great and I love the Gigabyte utility manager. I am using the stock hsf with a fresh install of XP_PRO, I want to pull the heatsink off the 645 chip to check the stepping but I didn't have any supply of goop to place it back on. I am using the factory pad also, I got the RT chip from newegg and it had about six pins bent and had to bend them back straight to get it to go in the socket. I called newegg and they did give me a rma and now I am not sure if I should try for another one.
