hey i wanna make a keyboard that has all the keys lit up with some sort of LED or other lighting material to light the keys up, would it be possible to find a keyboard with transparent keys, kinda like a macs keyboard. All i can find are multimedia keyboards with a bunch of crap on them i dont want...
Do you think EL lights would work well for this?
has anyone ever tried this?

Iv seen it done with glowwire using a standard keyboard so the light just shines up between the keys. Looks pretty cool too.
I did that to my keyboard... you want to see something cool??? get a black keyboard and run blacklight glowire under it... wow, i did it to my board and WOOHOOO, it's so cool. Oh, one thing. If you still have to look at the keyboard to type (*cough mom*cough
) it gets really hard on the eyes

You could actually go out and buy a Mac Pro keyboard (has added keys that are standard on a pc) and put some lights in that. Those keyboards work on anything with a USB port, including Playstation 2s :D
They are actually good quality keyboards, too bad they come with a crappy computer :D

Very nice link. Too bad they don't have 'em in full sized or ergonomic styles. I really need the numeric keys for key shortcuts.
I wonder if you can hook up both that keyboard and a numeric keypad to a usb port and not have them conflict?
