Well the 600 series has become the 800 series and I believe it is justifiable. To me it seem the AMD L3 causes more slow downs than benefit depending on what type of user you are. For normal usage the Propus cores are generally better competiton for the i3 and 5 than the PhII with L3.

Opinions? Has AMD got a bad L3 setup?
 
I preferred the phenoms to teh athlons, I assumed it was because of the L3 cache. I never did side by side testing like you did though.

I think with a larger or faster L2 and an improved read/write through L3 ability they could compete better with the iX processors.
