I have rebuilt my old A64 X2 AM2 3600+. Got a cheap open box AM2 board (Asus M2N68-AM PLUS) for $39 at the local Microcenter. Built in graphics so no need for a card yet. That is until I get a CUDA Geforce card :)

Got a Kingwin PSU 750 watt active PFC has decent rails etc for $59 also, threw on an extra stock AMD cooler from my Phenom II and BOOM! Crunching!

Hoping to get a GTX260 from a friend to start filling up some PCIe slots!

Nicely done :)

For the time being you should get ~1200 from the CPU. After you get a card or two I suspect it will just be feeding the real crunchers. ;)

yep. I got more than that before when I had it clocked at 2.8Ghz so that sounds about right.

Got a GTX260 from a friend and now have it installed and running. Of course, when I update to get cuda WUs it says that they have none to send :(

I hope they get some soon. I am anxious to see this thing run!!!

edit: Oh, and I put it in my dedicated cruncher. Sure its a better vid card than my 7900GS, but I plan on getting a 460 soon enough for that.

My dedicated cruncher is the dual core that this thread is about. It only has one pcie 16 so I hope to get a dual gpu card in there eventually.
