want to show off your 3dmark2001 scores? we are starting a team for it. we will be making a web page for ithe team (thanks to Rainmaquer) and will put our names and (www.overclockers.com) in the title and i guess our system specs and any details in the comments. the scores we put the o/c.com names in must be a stable everyday system, no official "suicide runs" can be submitted. and everyone who wants to join can. lets see hoe many of the top spots we can take, like "best geforce2 ultra" or mx200 scores we can get. post more idea's, too. rainmaquer will drop some more details in, too.
p.s. we need someone to design a team ligi with the o/c logo in the top corner of the screen and 3dmark2001 in it. post if u can help

Right click on the classifieds logo and note the size... 281x105 I think... should be around that size... perhaps a little bigger ;)

A score with OC'd card and default cpu speed would be the best way to compare video overclocking skill. People with the same cpu could then compare cards.

Must be able to run games for more than 2 hours straight at full OC'd settings, as a general stability guidline. Feel free to do more in-depth stability testing if you want to, cuz there'll be a place for that info in your comments about systems specs.

I think we should keep a minimal suicide score section... only the highest single score for each card/cpu type, not for each member. Just to prove that our team can compete with other tweakers who don't really care about stability...

sounds like a great idea. i agree about the suicide run too. there's no way we're going to take a top position with a stable oc'd card. also, we could have a non=oc'd system section to see how good people's video card oc'ing skills are but also have a oc'd system section to see how far these cards can go:cool:

sounds great to me. definetely need our default system speeds compared to tweaked and o/c'ed ones. like ill clock my XP back to 1400 and my fsb back to 133w/default timings, so everyone will see how much our tweaking skills improve our comps

You guys have mentioned some things, but you have to run ALL tests!! Just make a list and post it. Something short and sweet should suffice.

rules 4 submitting an official score to the ORB:
1. your system must be totally stable. U can do suicide runs, u just cant put o/c.com team in the title, and put that it was a suicide run in the comments.
2. put some system specs and the speeds of all your components(like our sigs here, but with less detail)
3. each user should run a benchmark at stock everything and name it "default" so people can see the massive improvement that tweaking made.
this is just a start, keep posting idea's. im now at the top of graphics card comparisons for my system, on top of 8500's and ti500's :)

Malakai nice score with 3dMark. I was looking over your stats and saw that your High Polygon Count(8lights) is really low. My GeForce 2 MX beat you with 5.3MT/s. Just thought I'd point it out, so maybe if you know how to correct it your score could be even higher!

OK i got a good idea. I would do it myself but as i posted in another thread i don't do graphics. Anyway you could take the logo for oc.com and turn the o on the left side of the lightning and the o in www.overclockers.com into the 3dmark onion and put 3dMark2001 team where it says forums. Also maybe turn the background white if it would look better than black.

Okay here it is with the whitebar removed...
Hitman what I did was I used what you did when you first removed the white bar,(a few replies back) My tolerance settings were either to weak or too strong in changing the white bar to black, it basicly kept messing the font of "www.overclockers.com" up.

What did you do or use to get rid of the whitebar?

Also, if you need any help updating your site i can help a little bit. I know some http but i'm pretty rusty but i thought i'd offer help if you get overwhelmed. Also, I'd be willing to donate some money for hosting the site if you need it. Maybe get a domain name for it if you get enough donations. Also, maybe you could get a mod to sticky a thread in the gd forum to get the word out a little more and ask skip if he'll put something on the front page like he did for folding and seti. Why yes my friend it is. Im gonna push her to 250/560 tonite when i get home and unlock my XP and try to get 9000. this is all on stock cooling. im also wrestling with why my mobo wont go higher than 146fsb. i know its not the ram, it maybe an auto pci divisor of 1/5 kicks in at 147, so im gonna try 160 at less aggressive timings and see if that works....i will reach 9000!
ill also run full default benchies tonite when i get home from work at 2am

hehe it's starting to all come together:D Looks Great! Could you put the banner with the white bar gone just for a test run for me? You can change it but i'd like to see what it looks like without it pleeeease. I like the idea of seperating the GF2 cards. I did some... AHEM... sites about 3 years ago... but those were done with point and click website builders provided by the host :D I did some changes on the html side for a personal touch... but this one has been done from the ground up using Arachnophilia... spiffy little editor... some shortcuts... but nothing major. Should have this figured out by tomorrow afternoon I'm sure. Also... take a look at the "JOIN" page for info on getting the info to me to be added to the database :D

It seems I deleted my baseline score from madonion, and so I'll have to bench a new one. I think it was around 4300 or 4400.

I've unlocked, upgraded hsf, case cooling, thermal paste, and dual-booted win98se since my last run at 3dmark.... But my HDD has been dying slowly for several weeks, so I can't really do anything on my own computer right now. My new Maxtor 740x will come today, and I've got a bunch of mods planned for this weekend!

So I guess I'll email my scores to ya and join the team sometime next week when I've had a chance to set up my new HDD and download 3dmark2k1se... and break all my previous scores by 100-200 points at least!

The highest I've had with 1024x768x32 is 5.3 Mtriangles/sec. Thats why I was a little confused. Heres a link, hope it works..

as i posted in another thread, my gf3 is doing 6.7 mt/s but i am confused at why the "nature" scores for my card are so low. I get in low 30 fps on that test while i see some gf2's doing in the high 40's. Anyone know that one?

well my scores at stock speed ate like 30 fps prob, but mw mem's at its fastest settings and an fsb of 146, and my gf3 is at 240/550.
a stock ti500 runs at only 240/500. so im very heavily tweaked. my untweaked stock score 4 my comp is low 7000's. the tweaking makes a HUGE diff. i plan to break 9000 soon w/some more tweaking:D

sorry i didnt read your sig, your heavily tweaked too. do u have v-sync and aa off and ansiotropic filtering 4 direct3d turned all the way down? those have huge impacts on ur scores. also, is fast-writes enabled in ur bios and what is your agp aperture set to?
u should be near 40fps in the nature seen with that system

Want to join the team? Well look no further. Joining is simple. To get started:

2: Send an email to this address. Include your compare url to your benchmarks. YOU MUST follow the guidelines set forth below.

3: Keep benching and tweaking. =)



RULES:

1: All benchmarks must be done on a STABLE system with the default 3dmark 2001/se settings. No suicide runs please.

2: All tests must be run. If you have the Pro version, you may exclude the quality tests.

5: Several benches NEED to be run.

Alrighty... the current scores have been listed from highest to lowest in relation to the stable score. On a side note... we have a really good offer to be hosted by Joeteck (a member of the forums and man behind www.joeteck.com). He is willing to host us with our url being www.joeteck.com/overclockers/whateverwewant... I wanted to get your opinions first before I give the "OK". I don't mind hosting on my computer for a little bit longer if someone wants to go for our own domain. Let me know.

my vote for this would be no. Thanks to JoeTeck for the offering but i'd just like to see something more of a personal domain for ourselves. What doesn everyone else think? Also, I would like to be something like our "moderator" just searching through the scores and such and making sure nothing looks fishy and making sure all the guidlines have been followed. Then, i could pm the individual and settle the matter out of the forums. Just an idea. For instance, i noticed that derose didn't do his bench with default settings so i could quitely pm and get the problem solved without any one else having to get involved. (sorry derose but could you please do the bench at default mad onion settings and then post your score? thanks)

I am wondering what, if any are the standard resolution, texture depth, z-buffer...basically what all settings should be for a useful benchmark comparison. I am running right now, but with different settings, on my radeon 8500, I get anthing from 4500 on 1024x768x32 anti aliasing on, triple buffer, 24bit z buffer4x anti aliasing. and I get 8413 at 800x600x16 no anti aliasing, double buffer, 16bit z-buffer. Please, if you know what the standards are, then please tell me, because I don't.

The "standard" would be running 3dmark2k1 WITHOUT changing anything. Just double click the icon on your desktop and select "Benchmark". Don't change ANYTHING. If you do while fiddling... the defaults are 1024x768@32 double buffer NO AA compressed 24bit Z buffer. :D

Im here for the LONG HAUL.....I'll do anything I can..from Graphics, to Webpage Updating....heck..lol..to just MAKING MY SCORES BETTER...I sent you an email containing my best scores tonight...alot better then my current score!!...I love Tweaking anyway I can...although the best my PNY will run at the moment is 244Core/523mem with a 142 FSB(could be a heat problem...i have no extra cooling on my Vid card ATM)...it tends to hang there,I'll beat that 8095 score...although it seems to be pretty good against other PNY gf3 ti200's..the GAINWARD seems to OC better...I WILL BEAT YOU ALL!!!...lol...j/k....I will try my best though....time to go to bed..night all

I still haven't sent my scores by email, but don't count me out of the team yet. My HDD problems are resolved, however my AK31 has just suffered a tragic and fatal injury. An AK35GT/R should be arriving at my house by the end of the week and then I can get up and running again. I'll send the scores I have now though... suicide, stable, cpu at default... no baseline. I have to get my new hardware setup and run everything at default still. Expect an email with those 3 scores this morning.

It looks great Rain! We all appreciate the effort you've put forth to make this happen.

Some things I was wondering about...

Were you going to use a default cpu speed with OC'd card score? I think its a good way to measure video OC'ing skill and OCing potential for different brands of the same card...

How about a percentage of score increase? From the baseline, everything default score to the stable score. While I still can't find my original score, I know months ago I calculated the percentage increase... at +33% for my card.

Just some ideas to toss around. I don't want to make things harder for you.

BTW, thanks for your old avatar, man! I'd be avatar-less if it wasn't for you.
