1) Going for that 1 million credits. Just cpu crunching, but they're two i7's and a dual quad. One i7 is still finishing up some Rosetta wu's, but will be along later.
2) Many thanks to Duner for coming over and helping out the folding team during the recent Chimp Challenge Race.
Don't the Overclockers teams regularly help each other out, any more? Duner was a huge help for us, but I was expecting more than one SETI cruncher to help out our Folding @ Home team, during their once a year race.

You flatter me. I only brought my old GPU's on board for the challenge. After the poor start, I did end up running SMP on 4 more rigs, but no bigadv so my contribution was small.
Anyways, I hope you filled up on workunits because it looks like the splitters are down.

That was my biggest contribution to the CC.
I did give you props for switching over in the "chimp chirps" thread HankB.

Sorry, HankB. I took you to be a Rosetta folder, who came over for the CC. You're one of those "here, there, and everywhere" type folders, I see. Good on ya!
My point is, we used to swap a half dozen folders back and forth between FAH and SETI. We helped them with their Gauntlet races, and they helped us in the CC. Outside of folding some for SETI, I've been out of the loop for nearly all the last 11 months, and it seems like that mutual aid idea, has soured.
Yes Duner, I'm having a devil of a time getting wu's returned, and getting no work. I got some, but they're nearly all crunched now.
How long is this problem expected to last?

My first love was SETI. I can't recall when I first crunched that but it was long before BOINC. Rosetta and FAH both seem like projects that are bound to produce results so I feel like I'm doing some good there. And it was fun to be part of the competition, though I do look forward to winding some of my PCs back down when we hit our Rosetta goal.

They need to re-sync the RAID on their database. I'm guessing multi-terabytes so probably a few days. If they don't get it up and running by today, it'll sit idle over the weekend until Monday.

My apologies, Adak. Since medschool has really picked up this year, I've pretty much spend maybe 10-15mins on OCF every few weeks to a month.. I hardly even check my own SETI status, let alone fiddle around with it or switching DC projects
Otherwise I have no problem helping others out. Maybe next time I might just chuck my PS3 on folding, or something. Though last time I ran it, it seemed not even remotely worth it, since FAH does that.. weird thing of scaling back of credit on fast clients. I'm sure they have their reasons, I just don't understand them. Either way, sorry mate. Hopefully next time I'll be able to contribute.

can i use my ps3 to help?
@Careface - you're excused of course, go study!
Faster clients on FAH are given substantial bonus points now on most projects.
@Willy8382 - :welcome: Wily. The race is 10 days long (it varies depending on the rules for that year). Starting date is May 5th at Noon every year, Pacific Daylight Saving Time.
Yes, a PS3 can race, but a newer cpu or gpu will do much better.

I didn't even know the Challenge was going on, and even if I knew I can't help because my rigs have been unreliable.
That was a problem this year - actually, most years. We've got race preparations right up there with the snails. ;D
Sorry to hear about your rigs. Good luck with that problem.

Servers are back up.
Yes, they are up, but traffic is very heavy. I would not expect normal communications until next Wednesday.

o.o.. wow. I literally haven't checked SETI in a good week or so, turned out I'd run out of work and have a backlog of like 2000+ WU waiting to upload but keep timing out, heh o.o
I have uploaded and downloaded several hundred wu's for SETI last night, and today. It's relatively slow, for sure, but give it lots of time, and it gets done.
