Hi people, my northbridge is pretty hot, so i cool it by glue a PIII800eb hsf on top of it, with asII in between..is it a good idea? or should i purchase something designed for cooling the northbridge?

Used a PII hsf on mine with AS3 and a couple of drops of superglue. Should be way better than the stock HSF.

So throwinga couple of drops of superglue work well with the thermal grease?

Be careful how you attach your HSF. I have experienced that using super glue on the corners & thermal compound in the middle is just as good as gravity holding it down. Thermal compounds espacially AS need a good amount of compression for it to work properly. The best thing is to use thermal epoxy which you can also make out of steel epoxy & AS thermal compound.

or Arctic Alumina. I got some from Fry's for $2.99!

so in general, my intel hsf is not better nor worst than those of hsf specially designed for chipset cooling right? i mean, as long as i do make some of epoxy or purchase some AS eposy?
