I am upgrading from a voodoo 3 3000 to geforce 2 mx, have a question

Hey I have a question about upgrading from a voodoo 3 3000 agp 2x, to a 4x geforce 2mx 400 64mb. The question is, will the 2d image quality be much less with my geforce 2 mx, than my voodoo 3 3000? Cause I hear all this about how nvidia cards dont have good 2d, is it true compared to a voodoo 3 3000? Cause if it is I may not upgrade.

Technology has advanced since the Voodoo3 days, I'm sure that the 2D will be better than the card that you have now. Don't quote me because I haven't seen any of these cards in action. Also, and MX isn't exactly a big upgrade. Go for a higher GeForce2, like GTS or something similat. MX doesn't perform that well.

Hey I am getting a deal for an ATI RADEON 8500 64MB DDR OEM!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! ONLY $200 Canadian!!! I am gonna get that instead of a geforce 2 mx!!!! Is that a good price? Also what 3dmark2001 are possible with a radeon 8500, and I know i will defintiely see a difference between my voodoo 3 3000 and this!

With the 8500, you could go 9000+ in 3dmark2k. watch out for some of the OEM Radeon's though. Some of them are pretty poorly made.

Is there anyway you can tell just by looking at the card if its poorly made or not?

Not really. The only moving part is the fan, if it has one, and that's the only thing that should fail in the lifetime of the part you have. Mostly just look for a good deal on a name brand, and you can't go wrong.

NOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!! The guy that was selling me the card said he would keep it, and would have when i get there so i can buy it for $200, but guess what When i reached to his house, someone was leaving with it! He sold it to someone else for $200, when I was right there! DAMN! JACK@$$! OOH Well, gotta settle with my voodoo 3 3000 for a little while longer :mad: :mad: :mad:
