What's the easiest way to force safe mode in 98??? Anyone?

LOL. A non helpful answer. Load into Windows 98 (normal). Then press and hold your power button. Next time you boot up....will be in safe mode! I know F5 is for command prompt...not sure of Safe Mode command.

For nt you press F8, idk if that is the same for 98.

Same thing, press F8 when it starts to boot, it'll show the startup menu, then you'll be able to go in Safe Mode

Nope, at least not for me. That's why I was asking. I figured it for myself. Shift + F5 for those who are curious. F8 gives the full menu of choices. Unfortunately safe mode wasn't enough to help me so I did a dirty install, 30minutes later BOOM!!! :D all is well!
