GIGABYTE GA-Z68A-D3-B3 LGA 1155 Intel Z68 SATA 6Gb/s USB 3.0 ATX Intel Motherboard and a 2500K.
Just got these for some work I have to get out for Sapphire. I am planning a review of this @ tR and was wondering if (because the board is not an overclockers dream) there is any interest in having me drop some content this way?

I cover teh Intel side of the house, and I would say yes. At minimum a thread with the review and pics, preferably a straight write up in WP and double post the review (Tr and here)...

Well it wont be a double post. I will have some twists and a little diffrent cont. That will allow cross linking that will be good for tR and OCF article traffic. Generally we have diffrent people viewing our two sites because they are completely diffrent in a lot of ways.

If its different, even better. I would imagine its front page material and loaded in via WP. :)
Whats you ETA on this review so I can keep track of it in hte CE thread?

Okay I have about a week to finish the Sapphire work (deadline) I will be collecting data on the board through this so I would say 2-3 weeks. Could be a lot faster if everything falls into place but I bought this and the video card is work:) Work first. I will do a photo shoot tonight or tomorrow and start a primer thread.

Primer thread is up to you... I would just say dump it all in WP and throw it out... but thats just me, Im not an editor, but neither way is 'wrong'. I just imagine a teaser thread will take away from the hits here. But again, its up to you. :)
I'll get that noted in my thread though 3 weeks.
I cant wait to see the review!!! :)

Yup DL'd OS and getting benches now. Should go well and smooth.
Probably right though no primer thread.

There is going to be a delay:( I need an SSD and the regular source is out at the moment. I really wanted to get some good numbers using SRT. If I can't beg, steal or borrow one by the end of the month I will buy one.

Well this has evolved into pretty much a study of Intel SRT and that is all I will be able to do. I had some work come in and more delays.

Hah...good times. Hope you're enjoying your SRT research. :)

Oh I am. I think I could live with this if I could set it up on my main rig to work with raid 1.
I think Intel needs to follow this up with an SRT setup that can cache every disk in your computer. It would take some funky hard wired algorithms but it would not be that hard.
It should take me about a week to get back in stride though I could do it in a day if my shop AC worked @ 100+º temps. Lowes is sold out of portable units and they are getting in heaters:screwy: Go figure.
Are the reviews for these boards up yet?

No I had some sapphire work come in as well as some outside lightning repair work (not my home thank God).
What do you want to know? My testing is done I just don't have the time I wanted to get it written up?
Well I noticed a sale on the GA-Z68A-D3-83 for $79 and am wondering about the overclock-ability of this board. Is it the same as the upper end boards just less features?

It has serial and parallel ports! I'm tempted by that board, I definitely want to read the review.

If you are going to cool with air it is good but going to phase change or even high end water would not be a great idea. This board is best suited for a workstation or daily driver. It is very capable but it should not be used for heavy overclocking.
I see boards like this as perfect for a cad machine. The 1 x16 slot gives all that is needed for a Firepro or Quadro and leaves a x16 @ x4(x1-4 depending on the population of the x1 slots) for a high end raid card. It would also make a wonderful server board.
So how did it manage with the 2500K?

4.8 was pretty easy and I am sure I could easily push it further but I just saw no need. I would feel comfortable saying 5, but this board; thought having the ability to OC, would not last too awful long much higher than that.
I will be working on the article while I bench the Sapphire stuff.
So would you say this is a good board for those who want to get into SB on the cheap?

Yes. No i5 GFX support though. You will need a card.
