Hi
I am a newbe here ,and I need some help......My problem is my high Cpu temps and V core voltage. I have A7V133-C Asus motherboard, AMD 1333 GHZ AHYJAR processor and Cooler master
heatsink,NVidia Vanta 32Mb AGP Video card ,512 MB PC 133 MHZ
generic RAM ,20 gig 7000 rpm hard drive. I do not have much knowledge in O'clocking ,what I did when I got my motherboard and Cpu is I installed CPU using Antec silver thermal paste and Installed coolermaster heatsink.Made a blow hole on top of my case and installed one 80mm fan there, I also installed one more extra fan 80mm on power supply vents ,total of 4 fans, next in the BIOS I use the manual multiplier and used 10.5 x 133 =1400 MHZ,everything is running fine except my CPU temps are high I guess, when full load 52C and Idle is 48C, and I read so many threads where people are showing lower temps. Is my temps are Ok and Vcore is 1.82, and also I did not close the L1 bridge or open it ,I dont even know that my CPU is locked or unlocked ,I know my writing is kind of confusing but there may be somebody
who can uderstand and help me Please, your valuable advice will be much appreciated.Thank you very much.

Welcome to the forums!
the insocket temp readers are not that acurate especially with asus boards. Do a search on the forum using Asus and temperature and you will find several threads about this. The only way to know what your real temp is to use something like a compunurse to find it.

If you are able to change the multiplier then it is unlocked. Most AMD ThunderBirds above 1.2 are factory unlocked.

your temp is probly about 10C cooler then what its telling you.... thats what its been for both asus boards i'v owned but like kendan said the only way to know for sure is to get something like compunurse to monitor your temps

well thank you very much guys for your valuable replies,I am very
delighted to see your promptness to help newer people like me.
thanks again. But where would I get this Compunurse?is it downloadable or I hve to buy it from a comp store,I downloaded
MBM 5 and using it to monitor temps.Like Kendon said my ASUS probe is showing 58C CPU temp and motherboard temp 28 C where as MBM 5 is showing 12 C less.I think ASUS probe is showing wrong temps.well thanks to you all and good luck in O\C.:)

No, MBM is showing you 28 degrees because that's your case temperatures not CPU temperatures. You have to select more diodes to make it see your CPU temp. And they are correct, the Asus socket's add about 8-10 degrees!

might be off more than that because I have an a7v w/ duron 800@958 and vcore of 1.75 when I first got it I was using an
fop 32 hsf and temps were 50c under load so I decided to go water cooling made the block myself didn't help much maybe 2c lower so I figured screwed up with block so I got one from ocz store low and behold same temp so then I got a 120 watt peltier and then my temps dropped to 23c idle and 38c full load and right now have swiftech mc 462 temps are 41c@idle and 44c@full load
all temp are w/ asus probe maybe with a hsf there off by only 10c
but with watercooling you don't have the air from the fan to circulate in the socket so temps are going to be off even worse!
one more thing the asus boards adds between .05 and .07 extra vcore so if you are not going to overclock very high you should back down the vcore. you have a good stepping I would think at 1400 all you need is 1.70- 1.75

The update asus probe software on their web site give accurate readings(same as mbm). according to most people here, the older versions of asus probe was off by about 10 degs.

Thank you for your vlauable info guys ,I really appreciate it and I am going to replace the coolermaster HSF and Install the better quality like swiftech and see my temps will go down.
Good luck in O\C
