I've got a 32" LCD TV that was given to me because it didn't work. Found a scorched transformer on it (3 identical ones on the board), and replaced it. Capacitors all look good. However now it does the power up for a second or two, then goes to black, then tries to power up again, wash-rinse-repeat.

I'm thinking one, or both, of the other transformers might be bad. Any other ways of figuring out which one it might be short of pulling them all, and comparing resistances between suspect and known good transformers? In the circuit, they seem to be the same, but it is hard to tell as there is conformal over all the contact points.

Thanks!

Going to have to desolder and check. Can you find the schematic? Got a board #? Some resources on the net, might have to pay $2 or more for the shematic and tech manual.

I don't remember the number, but I'll be able to get it when I pull it apart again. Most people who report problems with this model seem to be transformer problems. Makes me wonder how long it will work after replacing the transformers.

Usually when there is a burnt transformer at psu unit, its high possibility that the power semiconductor namely the switching transistor is toasted as well.

If you can identify the transistor and also capable of desolder them easily, try check them up if they are still alive.
